it isnt updating my stats , i just got the app and even tho im in plat it is saying in in bronze 4 with 0 levels and kills

If you are using Steam, the app will not be able to identify your Origin profile which is why it will not retrieve your rank or level. Your other stats, however, will be tracked only while you keep the app running because it is currently not possible to get many lifetime stats from Apex Legends directly.
